Who is Nura Aminah?
​​Nura Aminah is a Mixed-Media Artist and graphic designer, born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. During her childhood, both of her parents would expose her to art by taking her to museums and festivals in different cities and they would also take her to art stores to get supplies to practice her skills at home.
Nura now lives in Atlanta, Georgia where she has completed her BFA in painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design. While creating her paintings, she enjoys working mainly with acrylics on wood panel, but she is open to work with any medium on any substrate (like canvas, glass, fabric, etc.) Ahe even has experience with painting murals for several companies. Nura also does graphic design and illustrations and her designs are equally as her paintings because they also consist of bright colors and different patterns with bold text.
At the moment, Nura has a lot of commission work, but her personal artwork represents her as an African American female who loves her culture and expresses it through the use of color symbolism, patterns, and her unique stories!
